Preventive dental care is a lifelong process that begins with your child’s first visits with our pediatric dentist in Staten Island. Preventive care is expansive in its scope and it requires your child to help us maintain the health of their teeth alongside our care.
Daily brushing and flossing is preventive dental care. So are the twice a year examinations that we recommend for your child. Regular dental cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, etc. are all a part of normal preventive dental care that seeks to help your child avoid cavities, gum disease, and other common dental issues.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child is seen by a pediatric dentist office like ours in Staten Island before they turn 1 year old. We generally recommend scheduling check-ups every six months, but this frequency may vary depending on your child’s oral health.
