Meet Dr. Merola
As a native Staten Islander, “Dr. Joe” Merola graduated from the College of Staten Island in 2010 with a B.S. in Biology. He then attended Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, graduating with a D.M.D. degree in 2014. Dr. Joe continued his education, completing a residency and chief residency in General Dentistry at Staten Island University Hospital. He remained at Staten Island University Hospital to complete his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry, and was nominated to be Chief Resident in his final year.
During his time at Staten Island University Hospital, Dr. Joe became involved with Healing the Children, a non-profit organization, traveling to underserved regions, such as Colombia, Guatemala and Africa, to provide both necessary and advanced medical and dental treatment to adults and children.
When Dr. Joe is not busy ridding the world of dental disease, he stays busy by working out, trying new cuisines, and traveling.
