Tooth Extraction

Remove and replace your child's problematic teeth.

It’s important to note that our pediatric dentist in Staten Island does not suggest tooth extractions for your child lightly. We will generally recommend that a tooth be extracted if your child’s tooth has severe amounts of decay set in, or if it has broken to the point where it cannot be fixed.

There are other cases where a tooth extraction may be appropriate, like:

  • Fractures

  • Infections

  • Overcrowding

  • Severe Periodontitis

But these are less commonly seen at our Staten Island pediatric dentistry practice.

If a baby tooth is extracted then a space maintainer may be placed in order to hold the space open for the coming adult tooth. In the case of a permanent tooth extraction an implant or a bridge can replace the tooth.

Our staff is here to guide you towards the best dental treatment available for your child.
